TERM 1 WEEK 3

WEEK 3: 16.02.15 - 20.02.15

Another busy week of learning in Room 5. Reading and Maths testing has begun and this is going to
help with individual goal setting. We will share these with our whanau in week 8.

Life Education

Harold has been helping us learn how to keep ourselves Happy and Healthy. 




 We have been learning to solve addition problems using materials.

TERM 1 WEEK 4

We Are Learning  To Count on Materials to solve Addition to 10.

Manipulating (physically touching and moving) objects is how we begin to solve number problems.

 



We share our ideas and learn from each other  - this is called reciprocal learning.

THE VALUE OF KINDNESS

This week we wrote about how we can show Kindness at home by helping our Mums and Dads.

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce Lorenzo - he is only 5 years old and tells us he is going to go on X-Factor. If you listen to him sing you will be blown away with his talent! ENJOY




  Problem Solving

We have been learning how to solve word problems in Maths.

It helps us to identify what we need to find out and draw pictures so we can count them altogether.

TUAKANA TENA - OUR BUDDIES FROM ROOM 21 

Every Wednesday afternoon our buddies from Room 21 and Mrs O'Malley come to help us with our learning. They listen to us read and help us learn our alphabet letters and sounds. They also help us learn words and numbers.

We are making the most of the lovely weather and enjoying spending time in the beautiful Cornerstone garden and sitting under shady trees to do our learning.







We love having our big buddies coming to help us learn and look forward to this every week!!!
